Manage conversations
With an account, every conversation is saved to your account and listed under History in the sidebar. Without an account, history is kept in your browser only.
The basics
Section titled “The basics”- Start: click New Chat. A fresh chat opens immediately, and a new visit always opens a clean chat rather than your last one.
- Continue: pick any chat from History. It loads its messages and you carry on with the full context of the conversation.
- Rename or pin: use the ⋯ menu on a history row. Pinned chats stay at the top.
- Edit a message: hover your own message and choose Edit. It resends with your change and regenerates the replies below it.
- Delete: ⋯ → Delete. Deleting the open chat opens a fresh one; other chats are untouched.
When to start a new chat
Section titled “When to start a new chat”- When you switch to an unrelated topic. Long, mixed threads dilute the context and slow answers down.
- The model has a limited context window, so a fresh chat for a new task usually gives sharper answers.
- Keep one focused thread per task, and pin the ones you come back to.
If a conversation will not open
Section titled “If a conversation will not open”You see an error with a Try again button rather than a blank screen. Retry; if it persists, the conversation may have been deleted. Your other conversations are unaffected.
