Troubleshooting

  • Check the status dot in the sidebar footer. If it is red, Oyster’s service cannot be reached; wait a moment and retry.
  • If Oyster is busy, it says so and shows your place in line. Wait rather than resending.
  • Without an account you get one message a day. Sign in for no daily limit.
  • Add specifics and real identifiers; ask one focused question. See Write better questions.
  • For file questions, confirm the file is ready and use RAG Analyst.
  • Try a larger model from the footer picker for harder questions; it is slower.
  • Give the answer a 👎 with a correction.
  • Watch the chip’s status; large files and video take longer.
  • failed shows the reason when you hover it. An unsupported or damaged file is refused rather than half-read.
  • Check the size limits and your daily allowance.
  • Remove the item and add it again.

You see an error with Try again. Retry; if it persists, the conversation may have been deleted. Your other conversations are unaffected.

Click it once: it opens the chat, sends the question and streams the answer. If nothing happens, check the status dot; sending is refused while Oyster is unreachable.

Some sources have a passage but no public link; the retrieved text is still readable. A citation from an older index may not expand — the answer text is still what the model used.

Reloading the app many times in a short period can get your connection slowed down or paused for a few minutes, to protect the service. Wait a few minutes and open it again, once.

Use Report a bug in the sidebar footer, or write to info@redorca.tech.

Oyster is made by Red Orca, alongside Dolphin and Shark. One account for all three.
